.... there was huge excitement in Chibombo and amongst UK friends - when the drilling took place for the borehole - further work is going ahead as planned.
Tests have shown the yield is good and work has started on building the water tank which will look something like the one on the photo.
Last week we needed a further £2000 to cover the cost of the pipes and pumps - we have already raised £600 of this!
If all goes to plan, the borehole will be fully functional and handed over to a committee which will be trained to manage and maintain it, in November.
The money is being raised at a pace but we still need a final push!

Not only was the launch great fun, we will also benefit from a fundraising party in November and further events are being discussed. Watch this space! Huge thanks to Kirsty and Helen who have worked tirelessly. We warmly welcome you both to the Friends.
Bookstall at Chorlton Get Together this Sunday In addition Kirsten is doing another bookstall - with half the proceeds to be donated to us. It will be at the Chorlton Get Together this Sunday, 24th September. Do come if you can and bring books you can donate.
