More brilliant plans for 2024!

Updated: Feb 6, 2024

Highlights include:

In 2023 Chibombo People's Climate Action (CPCA) germinated and grew 26000 saplings. And that was before they had an adequate water supply!

In 2023 our fundraising target was £10,000; our supporters gave a magnificent £11,494!

With that we commissioned a borehole which was handed over to CPCA in December

CPCA has submitted an exciting work plan for 2024.

Foci this year are:

  • bringing younger people into the project,

  • training in sustainable organic agriculture,

  • developing areas for tree growing

  • extending the community garden.

Our funding target for 2024 is £8000 - see our annual report for details .

£4 will pay for one of 100 passionates (household members) to be trained in Sustainable Organic Agriculture

£60 will buy one of five bicycles

A regular donation of £10 a month pay for CPCA running costs for 12 days a year

£150 will pay for one of five young people to attend a course in Sustainable Organic Agriculture

£250 will buy one of 5 woodlots – areas to grow trees

Could there be a better time for a Peace Trail?

Find out more about what happened at these familiar sites and does the sculptured head ring a bell?

Our fascinating next fundraiser is the Manchester Peace Trail with Steve Roman on Saturday 16th March - More details and booking information here

Other fundraising plans this year include , a Friends event in Levenshulme (after our successful one in Whalley Range last year) and the Green Team at St Margaret’s CoE Primary School in Whalley Range will once again be planting and selling bulbs for a water fountain at school and for CPCA. There are one or two other irons in the fire!

Our ask of you:

  • Offers of help to plan our annual Friends event will be gratefully received

  • Could you develop our presence in the media and social media?

  • Support our fundraisers and tell other people about them

  • Share the wonder of Chibombo Peoples Climate Action.  Whether you invite 2 friends for a coffee and show them our website or organise a more ambitious fundraiser - it will help!

  • Don't want a present? Ask friends for donations instead

  • Make a donation

We will try to support fundraising events; it helps if you can consult us about dates in advance! Contact us at chibomboclimate@gmail.com
